Who doesn’t like a lip-smacking snack item in the evening? We all are health conscious and having something junk food is a big NO for most of us – at least during this time. So, what do we left with to satisfy that evening snack cravings? One of my favourites is paneer (cottage cheese) and with my new Inalsa MasterChef OTG I try new recipes with ease. One of the variants in this segment is Tandoori Paneer Tikka, which is simple to prepare using the regular ingredients available at your home. I, in this blog post, sharing Tandoori Paneer Tikka recipe in OTG. Read till the end for an expert tip to make some variations to it.

Ingredients

  • Paneer (Cottage Cheese) – 200 gms; cut in big cubes
  • Onion – Medium size and Diced cut
  • Tomato – Big size, deseeded and Diced cut
  • Capsicum – Small size and Diced cut
  • Curd (hung/set) – 2 tbsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Ajwan – ½ tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
  • Kashmiri Chili Powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
  • Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp
  • Roasted Besan or Sattu – 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon Juice – 1 tsp (Skip lemon juice if the curd is not very sour)
  • Mustard Oil – 2 tbsp

Method

  1. Mix curd, ginger-garlic paste and Ajwan in a bowl
  2. Add all the powered spices to the curd mix and mix them well
  3. Add salt and mix well
  4. Add lemon juice (if required) and mix well
  5. Add mustard oil and mix well
  6. Add roasted besan or sattu and mix well
  7. Add diced onion, tomato and capsicum dices and marinade them well with the spice mix
  8. Add the paneer cubes and mix with the spice mix so that the cubes are coated well with the spice mix
  9. Keep this marinated stuff aside for 2 hours
  10. After 2 hours take skewers and prick one diced onion, tomato and capsicum followed by a paneer cube
  11. In one skewer rod you can make 3 sets of the sequence
  12. Once you pricked all of the veggies and paneer set them aside
  13. Preheat the oven at 200 degrees for 10 mins
  14. Put the skewer rods on the grill rack and cook them at 180 degrees for 10-15 mins
  15. Once the oven is off, take out the skewer rods and serve the hot paneer tikka with fresh green chutney

Expert Tips

You can make some variations with Tandoori Paneer Tikka recipe with some small changes keeping the base ingredients intact. Let me give you those variations below:

  • For Achari Paneer Tikka add Punjabi Pachranga Achar (1 teaspoon)
  • For Hariali Paneer Tikka add Green Chutney (3-4 teaspoon)
  • For Lasuni Paneer Tikka add Garlic Paste (2-3 teaspoon)

Place the grill rack on the topmost place and use the upper heating element to bake it
