The major issue with old styled umbrellas is the heavyweight and long stick. The other important aspect, which needs to be considered, is that the umbrella should have a handle that is comfortable to be held in both hands. Skip umbrellas with handles seem heavy, bulky or hard to hold. The more bends and breaks do not make the umbrella sturdy enough or to operate smoothly. Also, the more the number of bends the more are the chances of your fingers getting pinched.
